Filippe Alves
CEO & President
About
Filippe Alves is the CEO & President of CARGOWARD®, where he leads the company’s operational strategy and delivery across Brazil’s key commercial ports. A maritime and port operations project manager by background, Filippe combines hands-on technical leadership with disciplined stakeholder communication—ensuring complex shipboard services are executed safely, on schedule, and to the standards expected by shipowners, charterers, operators, and compliance-driven environments.
Over the last several years, Filippe has directed a high volume of time-critical maritime operations across three core workstreams: cargo hold cleaning, tank cleaning & sludge management, and underwater services. His operational focus is always the same: defined scope, controlled risk, clear acceptance criteria, and documented evidence that supports surveyor/inspection expectations and client assurance.
In cargo hold cleaning, he has led campaigns for grain, sugar, and other sensitive bulk commodities—coordinating technical sequences such as residue removal, wash-down, detailing of bilges and structures, controlled drying, and final cleanliness verification routines. In tank cleaning (VLSFO/HFO/sludge), his leadership covers end-to-end readiness—including hydro-jetting, ventilation management, gas-free readiness support, waste segregation, and documentation for compliant disposal pathways. In underwater services, he oversees the planning and execution framework for underwater inspections and cleaning activities, aligning mobilization, safety controls, evidence capture, and reporting with the expectations of owners, operators, and third-party stakeholders.
Filippe’s approach is grounded in risk analysis, planning discipline, and cost control. He is known for structuring operations around method statements, permit-to-work control, hazard identification, toolbox briefings, and measurable deliverables—while maintaining strict coordination with terminals, agents, Masters/Chief Officers, and third-party inspectors. This blend of technical depth and commercial awareness helps protect schedules, reduce rework, and keep operational decisions aligned with contractual, safety, and compliance requirements.
He currently also serves as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at Seachios® Marine Services, a Greek–Brazilian company and partner of CARGOWARD® Maritime Limited, supporting strategic direction, service alignment, and enterprise positioning for international shipowner requirements.
Outside daily operations, Filippe remains actively involved in continuous improvement, focusing on safer work methods, stronger documentation practices, and performance management for port-based service campaigns—so clients receive consistent, audit-friendly operational records and dependable results across every port call.
